The Nigerian songwriter and singer, Wizkid Ago Balogun who released his latest album recently have shaded the speculation viewing his image as a boss with no urge to raise others.
Wizkid who spoke with D Boy Dayo and Mansour on The Beat 103.6 FM London. The conversation lasted for 18 minutes and he addressed a few issues. One of those issues is a particular criticism that has lingered on against Wizkid for a long time.
Following his fame alongside other top artistes in Nigeria like Davido, Olamide, Don Jazzy and Timaya; he is yet to raise a new artiste as they did.
The lights of Olamide and Davido has infused the quality of Nigerian music by the effort they made on bringing talents like fire Boy DML and Peruzzi to the firm.
This seems very different from Wizkid who is yet to bring in new talent to the firm. However, he has cleared the air with his feelings.
Speaking with Dayo and Mansour, he admitted the situation and accepted responsibility for it before promising that 2021 is about to be different
According to media, he said.
“There’s a reason why I haven’t like truly put a lot of artists through from back home at the same time.”
“First of all, I’m my own boss and I don’t take orders from nobody,” he says.”
“I’m my own accountant, I’m my own everything. So it’s like I have to make sure we’re bringing out the best of the best talent.”
“We’ve been working on certain things for years and I feel like 2021 is gon’ be amazing.”
